Quick Satellite Alignment Tip
Set the elevation of your satellite dish to the correct elevation for
your location. (this changes across NZ)
Approx 35 Degrees Invercargill , 38 Degrees Christchurch ,
40 Degrees Wellington , 45 Degrees Auckland.
Refer to your charts or use the built in guide.
Start with your dish facing NORTH, and very slowly pan towards
the WEST (Left) until you have signal and quality as per above
section. (fig 11)
Tips, Make sure your mount is perfectly straight and there is nothing
between you and the satellite. ie no trees or buildings,
Built in Guide for Finding Elevation
The S1812 has a built in guide to find the best elevation for your area.
Press ‘MENU’ on the remote, and select the ‘TOOLS’ menu.
Here you can enter the satellite guide screen.
Enter your longitude reading, and your latitude reading,
Then enter 160.00 for the Satellite (Optus D1)
Highlight ‘START and press ‘OK’, this will then give you your elevation value.
The orientation as shown on the screen is for the northern
hemisphere only, for New Zealand it is the mirror image of that shown,
When done press ‘MENU’ to Exit. (fig 14)
Factory Default
If the need arises where you are advised to factory default the S1812.
Then you do this under the ‘System Menu’, highlight ‘Default Value’ and press
‘OK’, Select ‘OK’ when asked to Load default value.
This will now return the S1812 back to its factory default settings.
NOTE:
After you default the S1812 it will return the LNB setting back to 10750
Calendar
You can access a CALENDAR feature by going to the ‘TOOLS’ menu.
Use the arrow keys to select different days, to change month highlight the
month and use up / down buttons to change.
Calculator
By accessing the ‘TOOLS’ menu there is also a calculator.
Use arrow buttons to select numbers and + - = etc as per a normal calculator
Press ‘MENU’ to exit.
Multi Picture,
By pressing the ‘GREEN’ (multi picture) button on the remote you can flick
between different channels by just using your remote control arrow buttons.
RADIO,
By pressing the ‘TV/RADIO’ (labeled ) button this will switch you
between TV channels and digital radio channels.
